Downton Brides

If you are anything like me you are obsessed with Downton Abbey and can’t get enough of this season. We have been able to enjoy some lovely Downton weddings. (Well one and a half– poor Lady Edith!) The 1920’s elegance is everywhere in bridal. I am seeing lots of jeweled head pieces, lace and, also thanks to Kate Middleton, sleeves are becoming more popular in wedding gowns.

As I plan my designs for next season I am working with some of these items as inspiration. I want to use cream colored paper, silhouettes, bold script fonts and black ink prints to represent the roaring 20’s feel. Stay tuned for some Downton inspired invites!
